
Q. How can I bid in the auction?
All bidding will be conducted on the eBay website to ensure a smooth auction. All bidders on eBay must first register a user id with eBay. This applies to all bidders on the entire eBay website. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes to complete. You will need access to your email account to complete the registration process.
Q. What is the retail value of each item?
We have included the retail value for each item in the item's description. Some items are so unique and they are considered PRICELESS.
Q. Is bidding open internationally?
No. Items will only be shipped within Canada.
Q. I've placed a bid, how will I know if I win?
eBay sends out emails to all winning bidders letting them know they've won and how to proceed with making payment.
Q. I've won the auction! What happens next?
You will receive an email from eBay with the total amount owing and payment instructions. You will need to make payment as eBay doesn't automatically charge you for your winning auction.
Q. What methods of payment do you accept?
The accepted methods of payment are PayPal. Payment must be negotiable in Canada. If paying with a credit card, we only accept credit card payments through PayPal (you are not required to have a PayPal account yourself). PayPal is an eBay company so it is fully secure.
Q. I've made my payment, how long until I receive my item?
When the auction ends, we request that you make payment within four (4) business days of notification of your winning bid. Most shipments within Canada will ship within 1 week from date of payment.
Q. Can I pick-up my item rather than having it shipped?
Yes, we are happy to offer FREE pick-up in Toronto from the charity's office where ID is required. The pick-up address is:

Q. Can I pay with cash at time of pick-up?
Yes, we accept cash payments at time of pick-up. We do not accept cash through the mail. If paying with cash at time of pick-up we kindly request you bring exact change. The amount owing if doing a pick-up is your winning bid amount only.
Q. Are there any extra costs?
The cost of the item is your high-bid amount + shipping. The shipping cost of each item can be found at the bottom of the item's description/auction page.
Q. Is there sales tax on my purchase?
No, as this is a charity auction, there is no sales tax on your purchase.
Q. I see the money is going to an association - is this purchase tax deductible?
The Canadian Hearing Society will not be issuing a tax receipt as you are buying an item rather than making a donation.
