Connect Counselling Services
Provide assessment, counselling and community outreach for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals, couples and families who are concerned about their mental health and well being.

Hearing Care Counselling Program (HCCP)
The Hearing Care Counselling Program (HCCP) provides communication and hearing care support services to enable eligible persons (priority is given to people 55 and up) with a hearing loss to carry out daily activities independently, safely and with reduced communication difficulties. This service does not include intervention in areas such as language processing, cognition, literacy, ASL training or hearing aid prescription.
Hearing Care Counselling Program Services will:
- Visit you and your family in your home to explain how CHS can help.
- Improve the communication ability of eligible persons who have a hearing loss.
- Increase the families and caregivers use of appropriate and effective speaking and listening strategies.
- Increase the clients use of residual hearing in a variety of communication environments
- Increase the knowledge of clients, their families and caregivers of the existence and use of a wide variety of assistive listening and signalling devices
- Educate professionals and volunteers working with CHS clients about hearing loss, communication strategies, benefits and limitations of assistive listening devices.
- Assist clients and their families and caregivers in their adjustment to hearing loss by providing support and counselling.
- Improve the ability of persons with a hearing loss to access health care and other services.
Hearing Help Classes
This eight-week course for hard of hearing adults will offer:
- Information on hearing and hearing loss
- Instruction on hearing aid use
- Demonstration of other assistive devices that are available for hard of hearing people
- Practical techniques for handling difficult listening situations
- Opportunities to discuss feelings and to solve problems faced by hard of hearing people with other hard of hearing people
- Practice in Speechreading(Lipreading)
- Guest speakers, videos and much more!
- $40 payable on the first day of classes (an adult family member or friend may attend sessions at no extra cost)

Hear Here Group ( Support Group for People with Hearing Loss)
These exciting monthly speaker meetings entertain, inform and educate with a variety of expert speakers on a variety of topics related to hearing loss
