GENERAL SUPPORT SERVICES:

  • Providing personal counselling and guidance with daily living activities
  • Providing advocacy to support deaf, deafened and hard of hearing persons to achieve access and full participation within the community

CONNECT COUNSELLING SERVICES

  • Provide assessment, counselling and community outreach for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals, couples and families who are concerned about their mental health and well being.

HEARING CARE COUNSELLING

  • Assist seniors, aged 55 years and older, who have an acquired hearing loss, and adults aged 19 to 55 with an acquired hearing loss and other disabilities.
  • Conduct home visits, provide education, demonstrate and recommend communication devices that assist independent living with reduced communication difficulties.
  • Hearing Care Counsellor can provide services for families, caregivers and other service providers and facilitate hard of hearing support groups, hearing help classes and workshops.
  • The Hearing Care Counselling Program will also provide in-services to Long-Term Care facilities, Supportive Housing and Retirement Homes.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

  • We are an ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) Service Provider.

INTERPRETING SERVICES

  • Provides a booking service to access highly qualified American Sign Language (ASL) staff and freelance interpreters.
  • Some settings in which professional Sign Language interpreting services are provided include:
    • Medical
    • Legal
    • Employment
    • Social Services
    • Educational
  • Appointments must be booked in advance. Call the Simcoe York Office 2 to 3 weeks before your appointment.

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Respond to public enquiries, provision of pamphlets, books and videos.

SALES

We currently stock a supply of Celect hearing aid batteries and TTY paper.

SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES

American Sign Language (ASL) classes are available for those interested in learning the language of the deaf in North America.
